2018 - 2016 continued

Officers from the 2016 delegation returned to Guanajuato for a Law Enforcement cross-training and local community project program. Several officers mainly from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg department, engaged with cross-training activities with municipal law enforcement department in San Luis de la Paz town, Dolores Hidalgo city police department and Guanajuato’s state police. Departments exchanged information, procedures and tactics to deepen bilateral relations and understanding of each other’s systems.  Along community members, officers worked to improve the conditions of the clinic in the rural community of San Nicolás del Carmen. Participants returned to the United States with new knowledge of the Mexican law enforcement system, their community engagement programs and the complexity of migration.
